Debra, congrats on your Substackaversary! I love the two pictures that both represent a 1st birthday in essence. Adorable!
I've truly enjoyed your humor, calling out the medical system and doctors as needed and cheering on your victories and ongoing as you fight the good fight for everyone. Most of all, I am so glad we connected and became good, supportive Substack friends.
Also, thanks for answering my question and what a nice surprise that you highlighted me and my Sustack with your recommendation. SO thoughtful of you! I'm sure you will reach your goal over time knowing how dedicated you are to working with your physical therapist and your own determination. Rooting for your future success!
Thank you, Melanie! I hope some of my readers come check out your writing. I really appreciated the question, and I’m so happy we’ve connected here on Substack too :-)
This: “I still cry easily in frustration over setbacks or feeling unheard by physicians, but that doesn’t mean I’m not handling things well. It means I’m still trying and that it’s normal to have difficult moments along the way.” It should be on a billboard because too many people think that the goal should be no more tears, no more frustration. But I think it’s more important to learn what to do when they come.
Welcome, Erin! I’m so glad you found my little corner of Substack. I really enjoyed answering reader questions and hope to do more of that in the future.
Congratulations on your first anniversary, Debra!! As you know, I love your writing, your story-telling, and your advocacy. Thanks for answering my question and for the excellent advice. :)

Thanks for highlighting this. I couldn’t agree more!
Congratulations!!
Thank you, Laura!
