I take a day of every year on those days to just be with the emotions. Sometimes it’s a celebration, sometimes it’s a commiseration. But it helps me to just let it be whatever it wants to be.

I think survival is worth celebrating. Every year, my husband takes me out to dinner for a combo Wedding/Transplant anniversary.
TBH, my family never cared about my transplant anniversary until I pushed to celebrate it.
